New data on Trachipterus trachypterus Gmelin, 1789 and Zu cristatus (Bonelli, 1820) (Pisces: Trachipteridae) from the Mediterranean Sea

In this paper we report data on four juvenile individuals of T. trachypterus and one adult Z. cristatus, from the Strait Messina southern Tyrrhenian Sea, respectively (Mediterranean Sea). Information morphometric meristic characters are provided together with some biological such as prey age estimation. Only stomachs contained prey: copepods, amphypods pelagic snails. The analisys growth patterns in vertebrae cristatus allowed to estimate an 4 years for individual. We also combined our information bibliographic sources estimated relationships between total length standard length, well body mass, these two species.
